Terms of Sale
Last updated
These terms apply when you buy a Squeaky Pro licence on squeaky.site or from inside the Squeaky app. Using the app itself is covered by the End User Licence Agreement. Please read both; by ticking the box at checkout you accept them.
1. Who we are
The seller is Vimmy B.V., Beechavenue 54, 1119PW Schiphol-Rijk, Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 72255900, VAT number NL859048731B01 (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected].
Payments are processed by Stripe. We remain the seller of record; Stripe processes the payment and runs the billing portal on our behalf. Prices include VAT where it applies.
2. What you buy
Squeaky is a cleaning and maintenance app for macOS. A Squeaky Pro licence lets you use every feature of the app on up to two Macs that you own or control at the same time. You can move a licence to a new Mac by deactivating an old one in your account.
The licence is personal to you. You may not sell, rent, lend or transfer it, and you may not share your licence key with other people. A licence key that is shared or published may be revoked.
You need a Mac running the macOS version named on the download page. Please check it before you buy; the free version of Squeaky lets you try the app on your Mac first.
3. Plans and prices
We sell one plan:
- Annual: a subscription billed once a year. It automatically renews each year until you cancel (see section 4).
Some earlier offers sold a one-time Lifetime licence. It is no longer sold; section 5 keeps covering the Lifetime licences bought before.
Prices are shown in US dollars and include VAT where it applies. The amount shown at checkout is the amount you pay. Businesses that need a VAT invoice can email [email protected].
The price that applies is the one shown at checkout when you complete your purchase. The current prices are on the pricing page.
4. Annual plan: automatic renewal and cancellation
The Annual plan automatically renews every year, on the anniversary of your purchase, at the annual price shown when you bought it (unless we tell you about a change at least 30 days before the renewal), until you cancel. The renewal is charged to the payment method you used at checkout.
You can cancel at any time in your account or in the billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and nothing is charged after that.
If we change the annual price, we tell you by email in advance, before the new price applies to your subscription, so you can cancel before you are charged. We do not change the price of a period you have already paid for.
If a renewal payment fails, the payment may be retried. If it still fails, the subscription ends and the licence stops working at the end of the paid period.
5. Lifetime plan: what “lifetime” covers
The Lifetime plan is a perpetual licence for Squeaky version 1. It includes every update to Squeaky 1.x (bug fixes, security updates and new features released as 1.x) for as long as we publish them, at no extra charge. There is no subscription and nothing to renew.
If we ever release a paid new major version (for example, Squeaky 2), we will offer it to you; we will never force you to buy it. The version you have keeps working with its licence.
“Lifetime” refers to the life of the product, not yours. If we stop selling and supporting Squeaky altogether, your licence stays valid for the version you have, but we cannot promise updates or support beyond that point.
6. Delivery
Your licence is delivered digitally. Right after payment, your licence key is shown on the confirmation page and emailed to the address you used at checkout. If the email does not arrive, you can resend it from the support page or sign in to your account.
7. Your 14-day right of withdrawal, and how it ends
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason.
A Squeaky licence is digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium. At checkout you tick a box that says:
I agree to the Terms of Sale and ask for immediate access. I understand my 14-day withdrawal right ends once my license is delivered.
By ticking it you expressly ask us to deliver your licence immediately, and you acknowledge that you lose the statutory right of withdrawal once the licence has been delivered (Article 6:230p(g) of the Dutch Civil Code; Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU). Delivery happens as soon as your licence key is issued, which is immediately after payment.
The 30-day money-back guarantee in section 8 still applies.
8. 30-day money-back guarantee
On top of your statutory rights, we offer a voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee. If Squeaky is not for you, email [email protected] within 30 days of your first purchase and we refund the full amount you paid to the original payment method. No reason is needed.
The same guarantee applies to each Annual renewal: email us within 30 days of a renewal charge and we refund that renewal.
When we refund a purchase, the licence is deactivated and the app returns to the free version. The Refund Policy explains the details.
9. Your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live, including the right to a product that works as described and the remedies that apply when it does not. Where these terms and the law differ, the law wins.
10. Our liability
We are liable for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and in every other case where the law does not allow us to limit liability.
In all other cases, our total liability for any claim connected with your purchase or use of Squeaky is limited to the amount you paid us for the licence in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect damage such as lost profits or lost data, except where the law does not allow this exclusion.
Squeaky moves files to the Trash before anything is deleted (unless you turn on “Empty Trash after cleaning” in Settings), and only acts on items you choose. Please keep a backup of your Mac, as you would with any system utility.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the law or our product changes. The version that applies to a purchase is the one you accepted at checkout. For an Annual subscription, we tell you by email about changes that affect you before they take effect; if you do not agree, you can cancel before they apply.
12. Law, complaints and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you also keep the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of that country.
If you have a complaint, please email [email protected] first; we try to answer within a few business days and to find a fair solution. The European Commission’s online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued in 2025; you can instead contact a consumer dispute body or the courts in your country.
